Boca Xica | Cocktail and Restaurant Bar

I had the great pleasure of meeting the most marvelous chef, Ricardo Viera, and also sampling his rather scrumptious vegetarian menu. 

Ricardo is a 35 year old chef specialising in vegetarian food but with an extensive fish and meat repertoire which is innovative and incredibly creative.

Ricardo was raised in a family restaurant so has been surrounded by food preparation all his life.  His freshly made pasta is the best I have tasted outside of Italy and, if he wasn’t already married with a beautiful wife, I would definitely be making a bee-line for him purely for his culinary skills!  One asset I felt added so much to the restaurant and its ambiance is the willingness to adapt to the desires of the customer. Currently, Ricardo has added a new range to the menu – Ramen.  And, luckily, another absolute favorite of mine!  Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for Ricardo and his staff who are so happy to accommodate.  My husband is a bit of a picky eater and Ricardo patiently went through the ingredients of the ramen on the menu and was delighted to create a special dish just for my husband.  The result was delicious and the restaurant now has another totally non-authentic dish called “Mr. Rod”!! 

Ricardo offers cookery workshops teaching how to make authentic ramen.  I booked for a group of friends to go along as a birthday treat in May and am really looking forward to a day with girlfriends and a fabulous lunch at the end of it!
